Two-way, all-day GO service to Kitchener slips again, to 2029
Metrolinx blames a freight-corridor agreement it has been negotiating since 2018. Local MPPs say they were told in June the date would hold.

The two-way, all-day GO service the corridor has been promised since 2016 has slipped again, to 2029, according to a Metrolinx capital update released Friday afternoon.
The agency attributes the delay to the freight-corridor agreement with CN it has been negotiating since 2018. The agreement covers the same eleven kilometres it covered in 2018.
Both local MPPs say they were told in June the 2027 date would hold. Neither was told before the update was published.
