The oversight committee struck alongside Tuesday's ION vote has five members, none of them from Cambridge — the city the $1.9-billion extension exists to reach.

The mayor's letter, released Thursday, calls the omission “an oversight in the literal sense” and asks for the committee's terms to be amended before its first meeting.

The regional chair's office says the terms were drafted before the vote and will be revisited. The first meeting is in three weeks.
